Please see the Course Map and familiarize yourself with the Obstacle Rules to best prepare yourself for taking on the Goodwill Mud Run course. Many previous teams have also posted footage on YouTube. In an effort to create a fair playing field for participants of the Goodwill Mud Run, course previews or practice runs are strictly prohibited.
The Goodwill Mud Run presented by St. Francis Sports Medicine is 3.5 miles with 35 obstacles where teams compete against other teams and is an officially timed event.
Cost to Enter
2-Person Team (Divisions A-C) – $100
4-Person Team (Divisions A-F) – $140
- JROTC – $91 ($91 per 4-Person Team. JROTC Teams Interested In The Goodwill Mud Run presented by St. Francis Sports Medicine Can E-mail For A 4-Person Team Discount Code. Only Official High School JROTC Programs Can Receive This Benefit.)
Registration opens online at Eventbrite on Saturday, December 1, 2014, at 8:00 A.M. (EST). There is no mail-in registration option. We recommend that teams register early. The Goodwill Mud Run participant field can fill fast! If you would like to start in succession with another team, register all teams together, one after the other, in the same Division, at one time while on Eventbrite.
TEAMS WILL BE SCHEDULED TO START IN THE ORDER IN WHICH REGISTRATIONS ARE RECEIVED ACCORDING TO DIVISION.
To aid in the mission of Goodwill Industries, which is to fund Goodwill programs that assist people become independent through education and training leading to employment, the Eventbrite registration processing fee will not be paid by the Goodwill Foundation.
2-Person Team Division
Division A – “We Are In It To Win It” Division A Teams are fast, well-trained runners, and conditioned athletes (all team members should be able to run a normal mile in under 7 minutes).
Division B – “We Are On Your Tail” Division B Teams are in good physical shape and are ready to do their best (mile run time of 7 – 9 minutes).
Division C – “We Are Here Too” Division C Teams are there to have fun and break a little sweat (mile run time of 9-12 minutes).
4-Person Team Division
Division A – “Out for Blood” Division A Teams are fast, well-trained runners, and conditioned athletes (all team members should be able to run a normal mile in under 7 minutes). Forecasted start times – between 8:00-9:00 am
Division B – “We Can Move” Division B Teams are in good physical shape and are ready to do their best (mile run time of 7 – 9 minutes). Forecasted start times – between 9:00 am-11:00 am
Division C – “Jogging Is More Our Style” Division C Teams are there to have fun and break a little sweat (mile run time of 9-12 minutes). Forecasted start times – between 11:00 am – 3:00 pm
Division D – “What Were We Thinking?” Division D teams will jog and walk… and will be happy to finish the race (mile run time of 12-15 minutes). Forecasted start times – between 3:00 -5:00 pm
Division F – “If Not Back by 7, Come Find Us!” Division F teams will jog slowly and walk… and will be happy to survive the race (mile run time of over 15 minutes). Forecasted start times – between 4:00 – 5:00 pm
Please remember that these times are only forecasted start times as each Division depends on the number of teams that sign up.
A team’s speed division should be selected based on the SLOWEST team member’s average 1-mile run time on a flat stretch of road.
If your team is the first one to enter Division A when registration opens, then your team will be first to start within that Division (same applies to the other Divisions).
Awards are given to the team with the fastest speed in each CATEGORY; NOT in each speed division.

Team Member Changes (DO NOT E-MAIL GOODWILL WITH YOUR TEAM MEMBER CHANGES.) You will be able to process your own team member changes at Eventbrite if a team member needs to be substituted. Instructions can be found on your Registration Confirmation. Team member changes will be accepted by Eventbrite until 12:00 P.M., Friday, April 10, 2015, which is when Registration closes. Changes beyond that date will need to be made when you check-in for your race materials.
There is no minimum age to participate in the Goodwill Mud Run presented by St. Francis Sports Medicine. If a participant is under 18, a parent or guardian must sign the event waiver.
Start times are determined by the number of teams that register in each division, a process that does not allow us to provide you with a specific start time until we know how many teams are in each Division (after registration closes).
WE CANNOT GUARANTEE YOU OR PROVIDE YOU WITH A SPECIFIC START TIME.
See the estimated start times listed on the Registration page, but PLEASE keep in mind that these are forecasted start times only.
Team numbers and start times will be assigned 7-10 days prior to the event. This information will be e-mailed to Team Captain’s via a Constant Contact or Eventbrite e-mail.
Participant Check-in/Registration (Packet Pick-up)
There is NO Packet Pick-up for the Spring 2015 event. All teams will need to arrive 45 minutes prior to your assigned start time.
Please have ONLY ONE TEAM MEMBER come to the Team Registration tent. The designated team member must bring a signed event waiver for each team member in order to receive a Goodwill Mud Run Team Packet.
Once a team receives their racing materials that team can go straight to the Body Marking tent at the Start-Finish area 30 minutes before their official Start Time.
Teams that miss their Start Time will be rescheduled toward the end of the race day if they desire so.
PLEASE DO NOT SEND OR E-MAIL RACE WAIVERS TO GOODWILL INDUSTRIES. All waivers must be submitted at Packet Pick-up or at the time of team check-in to receive your race materials.
Obstacle Course Information
Trespassing on the Goodwill Mud Run Obstacle Course not only opens up participants to the potential for injury, but also places Goodwill Industries in a position to withhold a team from racing.
Wear clothing items that you don’t mind throwing away. We recommend that participants wear pants that fasten tightly. Drawstring shorts and pants tend to get stuck and come off in the mud. A running, trail, or form of hiking shoe/boot is recommended for the Mud Run Obstacle Course.
You cannot run barefooted and NO flip flop or slip-on sport shoe will be allowed. Some participants find it helpful to duct tape their shoes to their feet.
The Kid Zone is open to children ages 4 and up. Parents/guardians must sign a waiver for their children to have the ability to run through the Kid’s Zone course. A Kid Zone participant does NOT receive an event t-shirt with their registration.
T-Shirt & Costume Contest
The Goodwill Mud Run has a separate T-shirt and Costume contests. Please let the photographers at the registration table know that your team would like to enter either contest and at that time they will take your picture. Goodwill Mud Run race organizers will vote on the contest entries the week after the event.
